The Course
Economic Evaluation and Investment Decision Methods has been presented over 850 times by Franklin J. Stermole and John M. Stermole to more than 18,500 participants in the United States and abroad. Those having attended include executives, managers, engineers, geologists, scientists, accountants, and business personnel concerned with investment evaluations. The course is relevant to persons with widely varying backgrounds and interests, including those without any previous evaluation experience and those who have done considerable evaluation work. Recent offerings of this course have had broad attendance from government and industry personnel working with mineral, oil and gas, chemical, electronic, and general non-mineral organizations. The course is oriented toward practical problem solving and the proper use of economic evaluation methods in many investment situations. There are principally two programs offered on this subject. The 2.5 day program focuses on economic evaluation concepts including inflation and a brief introduction to risk, but neglects tax considerations. The 4.5 day course covers the same before-tax concepts in the 2.5 day program, but then addresses the topics of creating after-tax cash flow and proper economic analysis in light of tax considerations for a variety of industry scenarios. In-house programs may be tailored to meet the evaluation needs of each client.
