The Course, "Economic Evaluation and Investment Decision Methods"
This five-day course has been presented over 800 times by Franklin J. Stermole and John M. Stermole to more than 18,000 people in the United States and abroad. Those having Frank and John Stermoleattended include executives, managers, engineers, geologists, scientists, accountants, and business personnel concerned with investment evaluations. The course is of value to persons with widely varying backgrounds and interests, including those without any previous evaluation experience and those who have done considerable evaluation work. Recent offerings of this course have had broad attendance from government and industry personnel working with mineral, oil and gas, chemical, electronic, and general non-mineral organizations. The course is oriented toward practical problem solving and the proper use of economic evaluation methods in many investment situations. The same concepts are also presented in shorter courses of one to four days, depending on client needs.

The Textbooks
The text, "Economic Evaluation and Investment Decision Methods", 11th Edition, January 2006 by Franklin J. Stermole and John M. Stermole is published and copyrighted by Investment Evaluations Corporation. The text covers the subjects presented in the short course and includes review of time value of money concepts, evaluation techniques such as rate of return, net present value, benefit cost and present value ratios, and break-even analyses. These techniques are applied to a variety of investment scenarios including mutually exclusive and non-mutually exclusive alternatives on both a before-tax and after-tax basis. Numerous quantitative examples are given throughout the text to more fully illustrate the material. End of chapter textbook problems are solved in the accompanying "Problems Solutions Manual." A "Self-Teaching Manual" is also available to aid the reader's understanding of basic discounted cash flow analysis concepts presented in Chapters Two, Three and Four in the textbook. This same manual is also available in Spanish.

Consulting
Economic Evaluation Consulting expertise is another service IEC provides. Typical consulting evaluations are related to discounted cash flow appraisals of mineral and petroleum properties using or evaluating the economic potential of mineral or petroleum properties and projects and may involve critiquing existing evaluations or presenting new models.
