Dr. Franklin J. Stermole
Franklin J. Stermole, age
72, is Chairman and a Director of Investment Evaluations Corporation.
Dr. Stermole received his BS,
MS,
and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University.
Since 1970, he has presented over 550 "Economic Evaluation and Investment
Decision Methods" seminars to more than 14,500 persons from petroleum,
mineral and non-mineral industries, and government organizations. Dr.
Stermole has provided consulting services for numerous mineral and non-mineral
companies. He recently finished work with his son, John Stermole, on the
11th Edition of the textbook, "Economic Evaluation and Investment Decision
Methods." His numerous other publications have been presented in various
trade journals including the Society of Mining Engineers, Mining Congress
Journal, and the Northwest Mining Association.
Dr. Stermole is Professor Emeritus to the Departments of Mineral Economics
and Chemical Engineering and Petroleum
Refining at Colorado School of Mines (CSM). He has served on the
faculty
at CSM since 1963 where he has spent much of his time developing and teaching
economic evaluation techniques to both under- graduate and graduate students.
Dr. Stermole's domestic and foreign industrial and government teaching
and consulting experience has provided a broad base of discounted cash
flow investment analysis experience to draw upon to apply to current investment
evaluations.

Mr. John M. Stermole
John M. Stermole, age 50,
is President and a Director of Investment Evaluations
Corporation since 1984.
He
received a B.S.B.A. in Finance from the University of Denver and a M.S.
in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines. In addition to
co-authoring the textbook, "Economic Evaluation and Investment Decision
Methods," now in the 11th Edition, 2006, articles written by Mr. Stermole
have been published via the "Institute for Global Resources Policy & Management,
Colorado School of Mines," the "Northwest Mining Association," "Heavy
and Highway Construction" and a chapter in the text, "The Business of
Petroleum Exploration," published by the American Association of Petroleum
Geologists (AAPG)," 1992 and re-printed in 1993. Since 1986, Mr. Stermole
has presented the course "Economic Evaluation and Investment Decision
Methods" more than 250 times to the companies, government agencies and
institutions listed below.
Since 1988, Mr. Stermole has taught at Colorado School of Mines for the
departments
of Economics and Business (Mineral Economics), Chemical Engineering and
Petroleum Refining, and Environmental Science, teaching the course, "Economic
Evaluation and Investment Decision Methods" to junior, senior and graduate
level students. Mr. Stermole also teaches the same subject matter at the University
of Denver, College of Law. In 1997 he served as a Fellow to the Institute for
Global Resources Policy and Management at the Colorado School of Mines.
Prior to joining IEC, Mr. Stermole gained three and a half years of industry
experience at Lowdermilk Construction Co. (also Tectonic Construction)
applying engineering economy to heavy construction projects including
state and interstate highway projects, mine site development and equipment
repair and replacement analyses.
